Vermont Almanac is a record of the year and a handbook for rural living in the 21st century. Our mission is to help foster a land ethic that’s reflective of our time and the unique attributes of the rural Northeast.
Our areas of focus include working lands (agriculture and forests); weather and our changing climate; rural living and communities; phenology; wildlife; rural writers, artists, and craftspeople; history; innovative new practices that promote ecological sustainability; and all other manner of stories that promote a genuine connection to the land.
Books are $30 plus shipping. Click the “ADD BOOK TO CART” button below to order Vermont Almanac. If you’d also be willing to donate a little bit extra to support our non-profit mission, that can be done separately in the section at the bottom of this page. Thank you so much for your support!
We work to mail all orders out within 24 hours of receipt.
In addition to ordering a copy of Vermont Almanac, donations in support of our mission are always welcome and can be made here. For the Land Publishing, Inc., the parent nonprofit of Vermont Almanac, is a 501 (c) (3). Your donation is fully tax-deductible.
In the internet age, no publication can subsist on advertising revenue and newsstand sales alone. And so, like farmers who sell CSA shares to get money up front with which to grow their crop, our economic model relies in part on donations and pre-buys from readers.
Work on the second volume, covering October 2020 – September 2021, is already underway. We’ve got a new weather station that’s going to give us first-hand data with which we’ll build stories. We’ve got a half-dozen talented new contributors lined up and dozens more we plan on reaching out to. We’re already getting reader feedback to incorporate. Your support will make Vermont Almanac, Vol. II, a reality.
